Our silent auctions use a proxy bidding system. When you place a bid, you enter the maximum amount you're willing to pay. The system automatically bids the minimum needed on your behalf to keep you in the lead, up to your maximum.

🔒 Bid Confidentiality

Your maximum bid is completely confidential. We take this seriously:

• Maximum bid amounts are never visible to store staff while an auction is active — this is enforced at the system level with no override.
• Only the current bid amount (the minimum needed to stay ahead) is shown publicly.
• No employee, manager, or administrator can view your maximum bid during a live auction.
• Maximum bids are only revealed after an auction has fully closed, solely for record-keeping and dispute resolution.

This policy exists to prevent any conflict of interest and ensure every auction is fair for all participants.

📋 General Auction Rules

• All bids are binding. By bidding, you agree to purchase the item if you win.
• A verified email address is required to place bids.
• Payment is due promptly after the auction ends. A payment link will be emailed to the winner.
• Items may be picked up in-store or shipped (shipping costs are the buyer's responsibility).
• Trotta's Hobbies reserves the right to cancel any auction at any time.
